The project consists of construction of a new general aviation airport on a new site in Picayune, Mississippi.
The New Picayune Airport design includes a 5000' x 100' runway 18-36, a full-length parallel taxiway, five stub taxiways, aircraft holding aprons on each end, a 400' x 545' aircraft parking apron, and a 325' x 510' T-hangar apron. Lighting and navaids include a medium intensity runway lighting system (MIRL), runway end identifier lights (REIL), precision approach path indicators (PAPI), a rotating beacon and tower, wind cone and segmented circle, and taxiway signs A 4300' x 28' new airport access road is in the project scope as well as construction of drainage features and 20,000 lineal feet of fencing. Smith-Western designed the initial $500,000 site preparation project.
