Smith-Western designed the improvements to convert this abandoned military airfield to an active general aviation airport
to serve Eagle Pass and Maverick County. The improvements consist of applying a coal-tar sealer/rejuvenator to the existing asphalt runway and taxiways,
applying new runway and taxiway markings, installing a new medium intensity runway lighting system (MIRLs) and runway exit signs, and installing a new rotating beacon and electrical vault.
