AIRFIELD LIGHTING MODIFICATIONS AND PAVING EXPANSION AT HOUSTON INTERCONTINENTAL AIRPORT, PROJECT NO. 390

LOCATION:  HOUSTON, TEXAS

CLIENT:  CITY OF HOUSTON

CONSTRUCTION COST: NOT KNOWN

 

This project consisted of designing pavement improvements to shoulders on Runway 14L-32R, expansion of the Terminal C Apron, Expansion of fillets at Taxiways WD and WK, reconstruction of Taxiway WD from WB to the North Ramp, and construction of a taxiway between Terminal B North Apron and Terminal C North Apron. A detailed aircraft traffic analysis was completed to determine projected design aircraft operations on each of the pavements.  A series of alternatives was designed using FAA criteria and elastic layer theory, cost comparisons were made, and pavement design details were prepared.
