RUNWAY/ TAXIWAY EXTENSION AND ROAD RELOCATION, GEORGETOWN MUNICIPAL AIRPORT

LOCATION: GEORGETOWN, TEXAS

CLIENT: TEXAS DEPT. OF TRANSPORTATION/CITY OF GEORGETOWN

CONSTRUCTION COST:   $889,000

This project consisted of design services to the City of Georgetown through the Texas Department of Aviation, for extending Runway 18-35 and Taxiway C by 900 ft. and relocating Lakeway Drive.  The design services included surveying, geotechnical investigations, pavement design, horizontal and vertical alignment design, lighting design, drainage design, construction cost estimates, and preparation of construction plans and specifications for bidding.  The scope of the project included runway and road pavement designs, drainage improvements, extension of MIRL, taxiway reflectors, deerproof fencing, and cattle guards.  The bidding phase included advertising the project, distributing plans and specifications, scheduling/attending Pre-Bid Conference and reviewing resultant bids from Contractors. The construction phase included compiling contract documents, conducting a Pre-Construction Conference, providing a full-time Resident Project Representative, preparing routine change orders, verifying estimates, preparing progress reports and conducting final inspection.
