APRON PAVEMENT EXPANSION DESIGN, AND REHABILITATION OF RUNWAY 18-36, TAXIWAYS A & C GEORGETOWN MUNICIPAL AIRPORT

LOCATION:  GEORGETOWN, TX

CLIENT:  CITY OF GEORGETOWN

CONSTRUCTION COST: $702,000

 

Engineering services included preliminary, design, and construction phases.  As part of the preliminary and design phases, a pavement analysis and design study was made for the expansion of an existing aircraft parking apron, reconstruction of the main runway, overlay of several taxiways, installation of a new electrical duct bank for runway lighting; relocation of runway lighted signs, and placement of taxiway reflectors. The project investigations included field surveys, geotechnical study, drainage survey, reviews of storm run-off data, electrical/lighting survey, review of existing horizontal and vertical alignment and check of existing pavement adequacy.

Plans and specifications were prepared for the construction project. The construction phase services included project advertising assistance, bid analysis, pre-bid conference, preconstruction conference, field surveys, periodic site visits, review of contractor submittals, including pay requests, and paperwork for submittal to the FAA.
